bad news...good news

so as many of you know last tuesday we had a little scare in my family. bad news: my dad had a stroke and lost all movement and control over the left side of his body. good news: he never lost his speech or cognitive processes just the use of his left arm and leg. bad news: still don't know what caused it. good news: they found the clot deep in the right side of his brain, everything is healthy, no hypertension, no plaque build up, heart is good, he is young, not overweight. thus they don't know what caused the stroke. right now the only cause is genetics. bad news: i have his genes. good news: he out of the hospital and at a in patient rehab center. bad news: he can't come home for another week or two. good news: the rehab center is awesome and he is recovering quickly. he will fully recover. he has already regained major motor control and is now working on fine motor skills. he is improving everyday. conclusion: i love my dad so much and i am so thankful that he going to be able to heal and recover. physical trials are just a part of this life and i am glad that he will be able to overcome this trial. it won't be easy but he will fully recover and overcome. thank you to all those who have helped our family. your kind thoughts, concerns, and prayers are greatly appreciated. oh and my dad loves visitors!

twenty two years ago on august 15 the love of my life kason phillip ashe was born. little did i know he would grow up to be everything i need and want. he is such an amazing man and keeps me laughing. kason i love you so incredibly much! you are my best friend and nothing could make me happier than spending eternity with you! i love love love you and i hope you had an awesome birthday! happy happy birthday my love!

travel, travel!

well i have been out of town for a couple weeks and i am finally home! two weeks ago i attend the joe and mildred jarvis family reunion. it was a lot of fun and it was good to see the fam. {i am a bad blogger and didn't take any pics but in my defense i was on crutches and it is a little difficult to carry a camera and crutch at the same time.} after the reunion we came home and left for utah the next day. my dad had a convention for the wrapping paper business. it went really well and was actually fun. kason was up in utah the same week for his cousin's wedding {congrats colter and Laura!} so i was able to go to spend a couple days with him. i did get some pics because kason took the camera. anyway, its been a crazy couple weeks and i am glad to be home! i have to start some wedding planning!

knee surgery part two!

monday i had knee surgery again. this time on my left knee. the surgery went well but unfortunately i didn't wake up from the surgery well. i woke up shaking and in convulsions and crying. they had to shoot me up with something to stop the shaking and some morphine. it was really scary and i kept asking for my fiance kason {i love saying that!} and my mom but they wouldn't let them in until i was stable. luckily all was well in 30 min and they were able to come in. also, this time they gave me better pain pills. i love pain meds! the only downside is it makes me dizzy, but it takes the pain away. this time my surgery was definitely better because i have a wonderful fiance who has spent all week taking care of me after working all day. seriously he has done everything for me and i am so grateful! i also need to thank my mom. she is amazing! last night my mom and kason even washed my hair for me while i was laying on the couch! {see above pics} anyway i am on my way to recovery and i am so excited because pretty soon my knees are going to be as good as new! {almost!}

engaged and happy!

i'm engaged! that's right kason asked me to be his wife for time and all eternity last night and of course i said yes! my sister karissa (aka juan) was in on the whole thing and took me to a few special spots were there was a letter waiting for me. the last spot was a little hill slash mountain and he was there and got down on one knee and popped the question! i seriously couldn't be happier! i love kason so incredibly much and i am so excited for the day when we get to enter the temple and be sealed forever! its been a long bumpy journey but its worth it. i am so thankful that kason didn't give up on me! i am so happy! i am officially the future kali amanda ashe!


ps my ring has to get made so i won't have it for a while. instead i am sporting an awesome $8.88 ring from wall mart! :)

pps so i am a terrible friend and totally forgot to take pictures at graham and jessica's wedding! jessica looked beautiful and the reception was amazing. i am so happy for them! congrats jess! i love you!
