the crazy life and an island escape

wow so its been forever since i last updated. life has been crazy. kason has been busy getting through the last bit of the semester and finals. one more semester down! woo hoo! work has kept me busy too. at mesa its also the end of the semester which means end of the year projects, concerts, finals, etc. i have been adding to my collection of crazy experiences. i am really glad i had the opportunity to sub this semester. i have learned a lot and have seen and experienced just about everything. seriously you can't make this stuff up. kids are nutty. a couple weeks ago i found poop just outside the door behind the gym. that's right poop. and i'm pretty sure it wasn't from a dog. two of my students stepped in it. i had to call the front office and tell them to send someone over to clean it up. after that i really needed a vacation.

luckily kason and i got to escape the crazy life right after his finals and head to hawaii with his fam. amazing! the weather was perfect, the beach was perfect, the island was perfect. seriously amazing!

the amazing:

deep sea fishing {kason}
catching a mahi {kason}
eating mahi {kason}
dole pineapple plantation
pineapple ice cream {kali}
beach
snorkeling
boogie boarding
message at the spa {kali}
polyneisian cultural center
vip canoe ride from kason's mission buddy
luau
pearl harbor
touring a battleship
pineapple and passion fruit jam
ted's bakery
plate lunches
matsumoto's shaved ice
waimea valley park
family
cute nieces and nephews

not as amazing but still amazing because its hawaii:

patti and dave's flight canceled
luggage left in LA
sea sick {kason}

it was a fantastic trip and i plan on posting pictures soon. aloha!

dear suns

the win last night was good. please don't bring the suns team that showed up sunday to anymore games. leave them at home. we like to watch the team that played last night so even if we do stay up too late watching the game and end up being late to work the next morning we won't feel too bad.

look at our garden grow part 2

our garden is growing! our peanuts are starting to poke through, we have 14 tomatoes growing, a couple peppers are starting to grow, and our cucumber plants look awesome! we have two strawberries growing but they are kind of deformed and we have no idea what we are doing with the onions. we are loving our garden and its looking good. kason is on his way to fulling his dream of becoming a farmer. if you didnt know deep down kason wants nothing more than to own acres and acres of land and have a huge garden. yay for gardens!

more spring break fun

more spring break fun #1: thursday night kason and i went on a little staycation to the arizona grand resort. it was so nice relaxing and sleeping in a king size bed. kason and i decided that the first thing we are going to save up for is a king size bed. {we will enjoy our 100lb tv with antenna that hit you in the head as you walk in and midget size couches with holes in them for a while. first thing on thing on the list is a bed. not that we aren't thankful to harleigh for letting us use hers. its just well, we need space. you understand.} at the resort they had a water park with some pretty crazy water slides. kason went on them and i, well, here's the story. first i went on the short turning one. slides that are not very high = fun. next kason convinced me to climb the 8 story stair case to go down the big one. i got half way up the stairs turned around and walked back down. after a pep talk from kason i attempted the stairs again. this time i made it to the top and waited my turn as 10 year olds fearlessly went down the nearly vertical slides. sooner than i wanted, it was my turn. the lifeguard lady turned to ask me if i had been down them before so she could instruct me how to do it properly. her question quickly turned into a statement, "you look terrified". and i was. {as i kid i went down those stupid bonzi slides once at sunsplash and hated it and to this day i am terrified of those slides.} i got in the slide ready to go and inched myself forward. i looked down at the drop and i couldn't do it. i pulled myself back up the slide and started crying. that's right i cried. i was so scared of the stupid slide i cried. i got up and let the 8 year old behind me go down and motioned to kason to come up and get me. he laughed a bit and told me i didn't have to go down it. me = biggest dork in the world. new goal = next time i see one of those slides i am going down. despite my failure to defeat my fear of the slide the day at the resort was pretty fun and i enjoyed it.

more spring break fun #2: last night we went to the suns game. even though we were a few rows from the top it was still awesome. we seriously had a blast. if any of you were watching the pre game show you might have seen us cheering for our suns in the background. that's right we were on t.v. i know, awesome.

we skate

we busted out our blades yesterday and well it was awesome. kason had told me about his days in elementary school and jr high as an extreme skater but until i saw the tricks i didn't know how extreme he was. lets just say i was impressed by the jumps and grinds. i showed him my tricks but i don't think they were as impressive. {however if the rest of my blading gang was there we would have busted out an awesome routine that only a few have seen. you girls know what i am talking about.} moral of the story is: we skate and its awesome.
